Marylou Roberts, born June 12, 1938, in Rupert to Carl and Florence Hansen, left this world

peacefully on February 9 , 2025. Marylou was the oldest of 2 daughters. She attended Minico

High School and married Frank Bailes. They later divorced. She married Carl Roberts on July

25, 1969. Their home was full of love with raising children Diane (Lynn) Nielsen, Rick Bailes,

Tony (Ruth) Bailes, Randy Bailes, Missy Miller, and Steve (Tina) Roberts and many

grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Our mom had many jobs such as working for Bob &  Ann Barras at Zip-Fer Gas in Paul, helping

animals with the great crew at Rupert Animal Hospital, and even grooming dogs with her oldest

and favorite child, Diane Nielsen. (HA, HA) Of all the jobs she had, driving school bus at the

Minidoka County School District was the one she loved most. She always said she never had

any bad kids on her bus, even though we all knew better. Twenty-one years of driving on the

rough roads took its toll on her back which led to her retiring from her favorite job. Mom and Carl

enjoyed spending time with family at picnics and family gatherings. They enjoyed the time spent

with friends bowling and the lifelong friendships it built.

The family is comforted knowing Marylou is no longer in pain and is reunited with her husband

of 50 years, Carl. They know he is carrying her purse as they walk around the flea markets and

antique shows again.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Donna, granddaughter Whitney (Bailes)

Maughan, and her husband Carl. The family is grateful to all who extended condolences

and to Dr. Boehmer and staff, Nurse Kathy, Stephanie, Yamammy, and therapists Jeff and

George for the great care given to their beloved Mother.

Mary Lou has been in my life since high school. She in the same class as my sister. I became closer to her when I moved back home and started driving bus. The early morning confabs at the Paul shop before leaving on our bus routes. The many lunches between routes with her. I can't the many memories these last few years. Chin̈ese lunches with her at her home . I will miss not being able to stop in to spend time. I'm going to miss you. Have a great time with your family in heaven. Lucille Wayment
