Curby Gibson, 74 year old Acequia resident, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at his home in Acequia. He was the son of Dennis and Irene Nelon Gibson. He was married to Betty Harrison for 51 years until she passed away in July of 2013. He married Mary Jo Rose on March 20, 2015 in Rupert, Idaho, with this marriage came three step-children who he loved dearly, Don (Lori) Hobbs, Teresa (Howdy) Baker, Jamie Casey Gorbet. Curby was a hard worker. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, spending time with his family, playing cards, and loving his Yorkies and his donkeys. He was a sponsor of Meals on Wheels and the Skyline Shine Car Show. He loved to enter his cars in various car shows. He was an extraordinary mechanic. He was a perfectionist with restoring cars and passed his skills onto others. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo, Gibson; his children, Tammy and Coy Parton, Neal and Becky Gibson and Matt and Jennifer Gibson; his siblings, Bud (Margaret) Gibson, Beth (Bob) Qualle, Joann (Jerry) Noble and Patty Gibson. He loved his many grandchildren. Dad, you got us into mischief, helped us get out of mischief and you were always there when we needed help. We love you and will miss you!
In keeping with Curby’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Urn placement will take place at a later date in the Rupert Cemetery. The family suggests donations be made in his name at any D.L. Evans Bank. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home in Rupert.
