John Lewis Lindauer passed away at his home on April 7, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  John was born in Rupert, Idaho on June 13, 1949 to Leonard and Rose Lindauer.  John graduated from Minico High School in 1967, then went on and attended ISU’s diesel trade school program and later came back to Rupert to take over the family farm. In 1974 John married the love of his life Julie Clark and they had three beautiful children whom adored him.

John owned and operated a small dairy farm, this always presented opportunities for lots of work.   Although, the farm kept him busy, he always made time for his family.  John enjoyed all things outdoors; snowmobiling, water skiing, four-wheeler riding, camping, fishing, and hunting.  You could always find him enjoying these activities with his family and friends.  John was the most genuine and loyal son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend that anyone could ever ask for.  His hard-working, honest, and quiet nature will be missed by all.

John is survived by his best friend Julie, his 3 children Gary (Samantha) Lindauer of Montana, Tiffany (Gary) Bliss of Paul, Terrance (Sarah) Lindauer of Rupert, his brothers Fred (Mary Kay) Lindauer of Rupert, and Bill Lindauer of Meridian, nine grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. John is preceded in death by his father Leonard and his mother Rose.

Per John’s wishes there will be no funeral.  Instead, A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday evening, April 13, 2019 at the Elk's Lodge, 85 South 200 West in Rupert from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please bring your memories.  Cremation services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert.
