Michael I Miller, 73 year old Heyburn resident, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at his home in Heyburn. He was born on April 19, 1946 in Modena, Missouri, the son of Earl and Frances Barnes Miller. He graduated form Princeton High School in Princeton Missouri. Michael was a Truck Driver by heart. He served our country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician Mate. An accident in the Navy caused him to break his hip and was later discharged. After his time with the Navy, he went to Iowa Western Community College and got his Associates Degree in Drafting, however it was Truck Driving that he wanted to do. He drove truck up until his health failed him. He married his long time girlfriend Christine Springer on April 17, 2019. His hobbies included rebuilding models and making his own from popsicle sticks. He is survived by his wife Christine, his son, Michael L.D. Miller; daughter Michelle (Charles) Herrera, two grandchildren, Letecia Herrera and Veronica Herrera. A brother-in-law, Clark Petersen and a few nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Frances Miller and his sister Ella Jo Petersen. A Celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert with Military Rites provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans. Urn placement will take place at a later date in the Veteran’s Cemetery in Boise.
