Donald A. Howell, (Don) of Burley, passed away the morning of Tuesday, April 20, 2021, after 82 years.

Donald was born in Declo, ID on May 27, 1938 to Marion and Margaret Bunn. He was adopted by his aunt, Vera, and her husband, Sid Howell. In 1961 he married Twila Sharon Fenstermaker. They were parents to one daughter, Donna and two sons, Donald and Darrell. They divorced in 1999.

Donald was a proud member of the United States Army and served overseas in Kochergen, Germany in the 1950s. After returning to Burley, he lived out on the Bunn Farm. He was a mechanic for years. He would eventually work for himself at the Chevron station on the Rupert exit until the late 80s. Don fixed many truck tires and made many road calls. He loved being out on the tractor moving snow. He retired for a few years, spending time in St. George. He then started another business, D&H Repair and Towing. He ran his own shop until retiring in 2016. His children and grandchildren were proud of his accomplishments. Donna, Donald D. and Darrell grew up working with him and he would later take his granddaughter out on service calls every Sunday during her thirteen summers there.

When not working and in his last years he could be found in the bowling alley, on the golf course or watching the Jazz play basketball. He loved traveling to tournaments for bowling and golf. He enjoyed going fishing with his children and later on in-life after his children moved away he enjoyed going with his friends.

Don lived in Boise with his daughter for a year before his passing.

He is preceded in death by his sister, baby Bunn and his son, Darrell. He is survived by his children, Donna and Donald (Lisa); his grandchildren, Camille (Joshua), Dustin, London (Allen), and Brock; and his great grandchildren, Mia and James.

Donald was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather; he was a hardworking man and a genuine down to earth friend. We will greatly miss his infectious smile and company.

There will be a graveside service on June 17th at 12:00 pm at the Declo Cemetary. There will be a graveside service on June 17th at 12:00 pm at the Declo Cemetary with Military Honors by the Mini-Cassia Veterans.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert.
