Jaime Ituarte was born in Arbacegul Blzkala Spain on January 27, 1926.  He was one of eight brothers and sisters.  He attended school until he was 14 years old when he was needed to help work the family farm and various other jobs.  He arrived in the United States in 1954 at 28 years old and worked with Johnny Basterrechea for seven years as a shepherd and four more years on the farm.  Later Jaime bought his own farm on which he grew corn, sugar beets, hay and beans.  In addition to his farm he turned some of the land into a small feed lot.  During this time he bought more land and also rented ground.  His brother, Valentin came over in 1957.  Around 1970 Valentin joined Jaime on the farm helping with everyday responsibilities.  They have been together ever since that time until Jaime’s passing.  Jaime enjoyed pheasant hunting.  A few years ago Jaime sold his farm, and enjoyed his retirement, sharing a home with his brother and working around his place.  He enjoyed talking about his life with friends and visiting with them.
