Loueen Dickson Johnson passed away September 5, 2015 at her home of natural causes. She was 98 years old.
Loueen was born July 1, 1917 in Rupert to Louis and Elsie Dickson. In her teen years, as a Campfire Girl, she enjoyed outings to the Howells Canyon area. She loved to dance and often talked about her experiences at the local dances. She lived through the Depression years recalling ration cards of that time.
She married Robert L. Johnson on March 13, 1940, making their home in Rupert. From this union came six children. She was a good mother who was always there to make a home for her children. Her only job outside the home was at the Simplot Processing Plant where she made many new friends. Her love of reading made her a regular patron of the local library. Loueen was a die-hard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and she rarely missed a televised game. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, cats and birds.
Loueen is survived by her six children: Steven (Donna) of Rupert; Donal, aka Tim of Federal Way, WA; Janet Hobbs of Vancouver, WA; Kathleen (Harlan) Rensvold of Nampa; Vance Johnson of Rupert and Rick Johnson of Burley; twelve grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert and her three siblings, Delores Moller, Donald Dickson and Mickey Alson.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Rupert Cemetery on September 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
