Leona May Wilkie 63 year old Rupert resident, passed away January 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long fight with several illnesses. Leona was born in Prarie City, Oregon to Leo and Sara Walton on February 7, 1951. Leona married Dennis Wilkie.  They had two beautiful children. She was a member of the LDS church Rupert 3rd ward. She love her family and absolutely adored her grand and great grand children. Leona is survived by her husband of 43 years. Her children Donna Wilkie of Boise Id. Clay (Crystal) Wilkie of Heyburn Id,. Seven grand children. Tyler (Dejay) Calderon of Burley Id. Hailie (Brandon) Scown of Boise Id. Dakota Mothershead of Boise Id. Nathan Wilkie of Cleveland Ohio, Kayla Blackwell who is serving in the Navy.Stormie Wilkie of Heyburn Id. Zane Wilkie of Heyburn Id,. And two great grand children Jayce Mothershed and Brielle Scown both of Boise Id. Four sisters Nancy Sumner of Boise Id., Cecilia (Jim) Johnson of Gold Bar Wa. Pam (Kenyon) Barrett of Acequia Id. Loretta (Gary) Winslow of Bend Or.Two brothers Leon (Diann) Walton of Heyburn Id. Jim (Pat) Hinton of Burley Id. And four life long friends. Barb Knight, Mona Dudley, Cathy Tracy, Judy Caldwell.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Terry Walton, Richard Dennis. One sister Linda Hinton and one much loved great grand daughter EllaMay Monae Calderon. The family would like to thank Marie Fairchild for all the love and care she has given Leona over the years. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31 at the Rupert 3rd Ward L.D.S. Chapel, 526 South F Street in Rupert. Cremation services were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert.
