Bob Miller, 83 year old Burley resident, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Veterans Hospital in Boise. He was born on January 7, 1932 in Gainesville, Texas, the son of Joseph and Dessie Newton Miller. He married Mattie Smith in 1952 in Turlock, California. They were later divorced. Bob served our country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he received the Purple Heart. Bob spent most of his working years as a Truck Driver with Allied Van Lines, but was mostly known for his talent as an artist.
Bob is survived by his special companion, Pat Little; his children, David Miller, Barbara (Daniel Garcia) Miller, Teresa (Kermit) McLean, Angela Maynez, Ernesto (Jeanine) Vallejo, Maria Castaneda. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ivena Whitlow and Nelda Parnell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Rupert Assembly of God Church 402 H Street in Rupert with Pastor Dan Hendricks, officiating. Burial will follow in the Paul Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Auxiliaries. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Monday.
