PHILLIP LARRY BRADFIELD
RUPERT - Phillip Larry Bradfield, 79 year old Rupert resident, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Cassia Regional Hospital in Burley. Phil was born on June 14, 1936 in Milford, Utah, the son of Phillip William and Blanche Grundy Bradfield. Phil was an avid hunter and fisherman. He shot trophy elk and deer, bobcats and a bear that he proudly displayed at his home. Enjoyed all mountains on horseback and 4 wheelers. He fished many rivers and reservoirs and always said he caught the biggest fish. He served with the US Marine Corps and was a very proud marine that had an honorable discharge. He met and married his true love, Dorothy when they were living in Salt Lake City. He was a city boy turned rancher with the helpful hands of his father-in-law Clement Simper. He lived his early ranching days on the Simper Ranch in Lynn Utah and he also delivered the rural US mail route daily. He later moved to Rupert to continue ranching and raise his family. He was a true supporter of his family during their rodeo and team sorting activities. Later in life, he enjoyed a career at the Minidoka Fish and Wildlife Refuge where he retired after 18 plus years. Phil never wanted a big fuss made over him and asked that family and friends remember him and celebrate his life privately. Phil is survived by his wife Dorothy of Rupert; two daughters, Lenna Bradfield of California; Tauna Bertsch, son-in-law Tiny Bertsch and a grandson Taygan Bertsch of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home & Crematory in Rupert.
Condolences for Phillip Larry Bradfield
From Brian Woodford
I am very sorry to hear of Phil's passing. I met Phil about 40 years ago. I have been working on his vehicles for all these years. I considered him not only as a customer but a good friend. We would have some great conversations as we had a lot in common, sometimes I called the B.S. sessions and I treasured them greatly. He was very proud of his two daughters and he told me many times how lucky he was to be married to the best gal around. I will miss him and the way he greeted me always started with the word say. There will never be another Phil and I was honored to call him friend. Happy trails buddy keep that cinch tight.
