Antonio Briano, 54, passed away on February 11, 2014 in a work related accident in Heyburn, Idaho. He was born on February 23, 1959 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Josefina Ponce Herera and Jose Briano Jasso of Zacatecas. He was raised and educated in Mexico where he met his lifelong companion, Elvira Ontiveros. To this union, four children were born. In 1984, Antonio left his family for employment in Idaho. He started working with Anderson Farms, Burley and Oakley and in 2000 his wife and their four children joined him which fulfilled their dream of raising their family together in Idaho. He continued to work with Anderson Farms until the time of his death. Antonio’s life was his family, his work, his fellow employees, and his friends. He was “like a precious piece of gold” to his family and he treated them the same. His son, Eduardo, expressed for all Antonio’s children, “Dear Dad, You are a hero, a protector, a teacher, an example to follow. You are the best father and we all love you dearly. We miss you here on earth but, we know that one day we will be together again on a new journey. You helped us through this life, from the time we were born till the day you left and died to this world. This is a message from us to you, Father. We will always miss you. Rest in peace.” He was an extraordinarily skilled worker. There wasn’t much he couldn’t or wouldn’t do. He was well respected with his fellow employees and his work ethic was second to none. He did his work with pride and enthusiasm. His favorite expression was “rapido” or “right now” which typified his use of time and joy in what he did. He was greatly loved and admired by all who knew him. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his parents of Zacatecas, Mexico, his wife, Elvira of Burley, their four children; Marco (Zacatecas) Olga (Burley), Eduardo, (Zacatecas) Diego and his wife Zainab (Burley). His oldest son, Alejandro Briano (Zacatecas). Antonio’s siblings; Jose Luis (Zacatecas), Rosa (Zacatecas), Javier (Burley), Maribel (Zacatecas), Carlos (Zacatecas), and Olivia (Zacatecas). A vigil service with the recitation of the rosary will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Little Flower Catholic Church, 1601 Oakley Avenue in Burley. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following, with Julio Vicente, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home 321 East Main Street in Burley.
