MICHAEL "ZEKE" L. ZEMKE

PAUL - Michael "Zeke" L. Zemke, 64 year old Paul resident, passed away with dignity, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 after fighting the fight of cancer. He was born on March 15, 1953, to Forrest and Naoma Zemke. He joined three brothers and later by another brother and sister. He graduated from Burley High School and started to work at J.R. Simplot. He married Marcela Obermiller and to this marriage brought three children. They later divorced. He then met Teena & Jacob. Teena and Mike married in 1986. He worked at Shockey Sheet Metal, Idaho Equipment, and at the time of his death, Amalgamated Sugar Company. He was a Machinist at all these places. He loved making many things. He was always learning. NO QUESTION WAS A STUPID QUESTION. He was very active in the community and the Elks functions. He was an Exalted Ruler and State Secretary for Elks and very proud. He is survived by his wife, Teena; three sons, Brandin (Marsha), Jacob (Alyssa), Sam (Kimaree); one daughter, Laci (Everett) Gardner and a daughter in-law, Katie (Mitch); his mother, Naoma; brother Ron (Demarice); sister Peggy (Steve) Gulbranson; sister in-law MaryAnn (Craig) and her son Ron; grandchildren, Antonio, Andre, Addison, Ivy, Jaxon, Jayla, Jasmine, Darren, Nathan, Aubrey, Roxlan, Gentry, Lexi, Jacob Hilling, and many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his father, father and mother in-law, one son; three brothers; one sister; a sister in-law. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Rupert Elks Lodge. A special thank you to all his friends and the Elks for making his days always SPECIAL. He enjoyed life. Cremation services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert.
