William C. Martindale, 75, of Vancouver, Washington joined his wife and daughter in Heaven Wednesday, February 12th, 2014. He was born February 2nd, 1939 in Culver City, CA to E. C. Martindale & Velma Fenton. He was preceded in heaven by both of his parents as well as his brothers, Edwin Martindale & Leon Martindale and his loving daughter Debbie Martindale and his wife Charlotte Martindale. He is survived by his daughter Connie Hanson, his son in-law Shane Hanson and two grandsons Ryan Hanson and Derik Hanson, all of Vancouver., His siblings; Vonda (Dale) Rhinehart of Fruitland ID, Jay D. (Barbara) Martindale of Boise ID, Vern (Louise) Martindale of North Salt Lake City UT, Susan (Bill) Wendell of Eagle Idaho, Lorie (Doug) Bolander of Boise ID, Delain Horn of Bremerton WA, Pat (Ray) Muller of Shelby Heights MI, and Jean (John) Scholtes of Ontario OR. Bill joined the Air force in Nov of 1956 and was honorably discharged in October of 1960. While in the Air force, he learned the trade of refueling which he turned into a career starting with Texaco and eventually retiring from Chevron. After leaving the Air force, he married his late wife Charlotte Martindale where he celebrated 51 years of marriage on December 15th, 2012. Bill liked to keep busy doing “projects” as he liked to call them. These projects had a tendency to grow in size. One was a new garage which would eventually include a freight elevator leading up to a bathroom he and his grandson built on the second floor. He also enjoyed travel. He recently went on a month and a half trip across the US with his Brother Jay D, where he was able to check off many of the things on his bucket list. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family during the summer months and watching Football and Nascar on the weekends. The 2014 Super Bowl fell on his birthday this year where he got to cheer the Seahawks to victory with his brother Vern. He died 10 days later from complications due to Pulmonary Fibrosis, which he was diagnosed with a couple of years earlier. There will be a viewing held Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morrison Payne Funeral Home, 321 E Main St, Burley. The funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday February 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Morrison Payne Funeral Home followed by graveside services at Paul Cemetery with Military Honors provided my the Mini-Cassia Veterans.
