My FAVORITE memory of my Great Uncle Swede was when I would go stay with them over spring break. He would take me out to the fields to feed. Once we were out in the middle he would jump out of the pickup that was still driving and I would slide over to the driver’s seat. I could barely see over the steering wheel. He would jump on the back and feed. Before we reached the end of the field he would jump back in and turn us around…. we would always finish the day with a bowl of ice cream with malt sprinkled on top.

Swede will be missed. We had forgotten his name was Allen! Growing up my kids thought they were just another set of Grandparents. You all will get through this. I lost my dad in December, so I know exactly how you feel. Much love, Laura

It's with great sadness to learn of the passing of Uncle Swede. A legendary character who always added some interesting color to every occasion. I hope Fannie is going to be okay, as she has lost her soulmate for sure! John, Thelma and Helen are with their brother once again…..Patrick

I have such fond memories of being a waitress at the cafe in Minidoka and having Swede and Fanny and you kids, come into the cafe. I was just a kid, but they were always so nice to me. My condolences to you and your family.
