Elisa Riojas Fuentes, 82 year old Burley resident, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley. Elisa was born April 17,1933 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Rosendo and Sabina Riojas, she had several brothers and sisters. She met the love of her life Porfirio M. Fuentes, whom she would spend the next 55 years of her life with, and from that union there were four sons and four daughters. Elisa loved to spend time cooking for her children, and grandchildren and having them all together for family gatherings at her home, she also enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, and watching her novelas, and also listening to Spanish music. Elisa is survived by her children, Porfirio (Pete) Fuentes Jr, Rupert Id, Jose L.(Susie) Fuentes, Burley, Ramiro (Rosa)Fuentes, Texas, Roberto (Diane) Fuentes, Burley, Gloria Fuentes Burley, Minnie (Joe) Riojas, Heyburn, Irma (Felipe) Mendoza, Texas, Delia Fuentes, Utah And her most cherished and very close to her heart granddaughter Christina (Tim) Giraud, Heyburn. She had 30 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Elisa was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Porfirio and her beloved grandson Armando David Fuentes, whom was also very dear and close to her heart. Elisa's greatest and proudest
accomplishments was raising her eight children to grow up to be the best that they could be, by instilling her love and values of raising children and always working hard to live fulfilling lives of their own. Our dear sweet beloved mother and grandmother, you will forever live on in our hearts, and we will always cherish the memories of life’s lessons that you taught us all, so we in turn would understand the struggles of life. Thank you for your wisdom and unending love, We love you and may Almighty God bless you. A Vigil service with recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Little Flower Catholic Church, 1601 Oakley Ave. in Burley with Father Julio Vicente as celebrant. Friends may call one hour prior to the Rosary at the Church. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Little Flower Catholic Church, 1601 Oakley Ave. in Burley with Father Julio Vicente officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley.
