RUPERT - George, Son of Alberto and Florencia Gerhardt (Trujillo) was born September 24, 1951 in Hale Center, TX and passed away March 10, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
George graduated from Hale Center High School in 1971 and later that year married Delores (Rojas) in November. They moved to Rupert Idaho shortly after where they raised their 5 children. George ran a successful trucking company for many years and ended his employment history as a mechanic. He was a HUGE Green Bay Packers Fan! George loved his weekly visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and took pride in having a beautiful lawn that his entire family enjoyed during the warmer months, he also enjoyed his daily drives with his friends. George was an exceptional husband and grandpa and he will be missed dearly.
George is survived by his wife of 51 years Delores Gerhardt (Rojas),
Children; Lily Gerhardt, Michelle (Ruben) Alvarez, Greg Gerhardt, Gilbert (Kara) Gerhardt.
Grandchildren; Jeffrey (Ashley) Jones, Shyann Bathauer, Shawntay Uhl, Britney (Jorge) Salinas, Geniva (Javier) Juarez, Ruben (Aspen) Alvarez, Makenzie Osterhout, Geoffrey Gerhardt, M’Kaiya Gerhardt, Gunner Gerhardt, Cash Gerhardt, Madison Gerhardt.
Great-Grandchildren; Audrina Juarez, Mason Salinas, Ethan Bathauer, Royce Juarez, Eli Salinas, Layne Alvarez, Isaac Salinas, Sofia Salinas, Ryder Rue, and Joey Juarez.
Sibling: Dennis (Dora) Gerhardt.
He was proceded in death by both his parents, his Son Geff Gerhardt, 11 of his siblings and his grandson-in-law Evan Bathauer. A Celebration of George’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert, A private burial will take place at a later date in the Rupert Cemetery.

I really enjoyed our trips to Rupert and visiting with my brother in law George. Subjects ranged from working on trucks, football, or life in general. Trips there won't be same but he will always be in my memory....Delane Schumacher

I knew the family through Geff, he was such a wonderful friend. I meet George a couple of times when Lily loved next too to me at the Conional Apts. The who family was just amazing. Our condolences to the Gerhardt family. We grew up together in Hale Center, Tx. RIP my dear Amigo. You sir were ONE OF A KIND FRIEND! May God bring peace and comfort to your familia. I still remember the 55 Chevy you had and we drove it to Amarillo to the dray strip and we entered the strip in the wrong entrance and they thought we were racing and they painted white numbers and letters on you car! LOL, we drove back to Hale Center and everyone thought you raced it!!!! Heck we had to put a empty quart of oil under the oil pan when we got there and then when we left, we just poured it right back in! Them were the days, You were a true FREND!
