Margaret Mary Gomes-Figueira Archibald, 80, of Burley, Idaho, passed away surrounded by family on May 11, 2024.

Margaret “Baby Sista” was welcomed in Hilo, Hawaii in 1943 by parents, Michael, and Cecelia Gomes Figueira and brothers, Michael, and Patrick.
She met Ronald Lloyd Archibald in California who she married February 6, 1965. She and Ron welcomed son, Paul G Archibald June 1966. They moved to Hawaii where they had Shawn Ronald Archibald July 1973. They moved to Oakley Idaho in 1976 where they lived for the next 39 years. Margaret moved to Burley in 2015 where she lived her remaining days.

Margaret was loved by many. She worked at the Oakley School for years and is called “our favorite cafeteria lady” by many prior students. She was very active at Little Flower Catholic Church-- running the prayer group, teaching children in her home for first communion, and helping anywhere she could. She was a lover of flowers, mountains, and birds. Nothing made her happier than when she was surrounded by her family. She was a sweet and sassy lady known to hug everyone she knew.

Margaret was proceeded in death by her parents, Michael and Cecelia, her husband Ron, and her brother, Patrick. She is survived by her sons, Paul and Shawn, daughters-in-law, Lorelei and Hope, grandchildren, Kayla, Robert, Wyatt, Jaxon, Marissa, Breanna, Amelia, Gentry, and Taylee, her brothers, Michael, Tommy, and Norbert, and her sister, Rosemary, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins and many more who she considered family.

The family would like to thank the staff at the University of Utah hospital for the excellent care given to Margaret during her last few weeks.

Donations and flowers can be sent to the Little Flower Catholic church or the Morrison Funeral Home in Rupert.

A viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by a recitation of the rosary at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Little Flower Catholic Church, 1601 Oakley Ave. in Burley. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following the Rosary with the Rev. Father Eladio Vieyra as celebrant. Burial will follow the Mass in the Oakley Cemetery in Oakley, Idaho. A viewing for Friends and family will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South hwy 24 in Rupert from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary beginning at 6:30.
