Bernice (Rupard) Biggins (Mom) was born October 28,1931 to Oscar & Genevieve Rupard in Rupert Idaho where she was raised. She married Joe Teeter, they moved to Spokane Washington & they had two sons: Buddy Joe & Virgil Lee.
Later she divorced & married Randy Biggins, who adopted Bud & Virgil, giving them his last name. Bernice & Randy had five children: Darwin Allen, Edwin Oscar, Diana Lynn, Franklin Clyde & Michael John. Diana passed just before her fourth birthday. Randy & Bernice lived in Post Falls, Idaho, Coeur d' Alene Idaho, Kalispell Montana, Summers Montana & Lake Blaine Montana. Bernice divorced Randy & moved back to Idaho to be near family. Bernice was employed at Minidoka Memorial Hospital so she could be close and help take care of grandmother Rupard. She became a C.N.A. and helped train many C.N.A.'s, some who later went on to become nurses and others went into Administration.
After retiring from MMH she took the job of babysitting Walter Morgan when he was less than a year old. She later told me it was the best job she ever had. Mom enjoyed riding horses, reading, country music, crocheting, macrame, painting, ceramics, puzzles as well as other arts & crafts.
Bernice was preceded in death by her daughter Diana, her parents, & her brother Eddie. She is survived by her six sons, many grandkids & great grandkids.
Family would like to extend a very heartfelt Thank You to the staff at Countryside Care & Rehab & to Dr. Jeff Swenson for taking such good care of our mom!!!
There will be a graveside service at the Rupert Cemetery on June 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
Condolences:
I am so sorry for your loss. I use to work with Bernice at Minidoka Hospital. We were both a CNA. She was a pleasant lady and fun to work with!!! So thankful for the time we got to work together and for getting to know Bernice! RIP Bernice. Mary Poole
