Tom was born in Burley, Idaho to Saburo (Sam) and Mary Ogawa. He was the eldest of five children.
The five siblings are Dean Ogawa (deceased)(Becca), Mark Ogawa (Joy), Susan Kippes-Jentzsch (Jeff), and Dave Ogawa
Tom's attended Burley High School. He graduated in 1965. He then went to the College of Idaho in Caldwell. From there, Tom served in the Marines from 1969-1973.
Tom settled in Salt Lake City, Utah. He lived there for numerous years. He worked for American Diamond Tool. He retired in 2023.
Tom had no children. His nieces and nephews were "his kids". He was very good to them and loved them. They loved him back. They will miss their "Uncle Tom" deeply.
Nephews: Andrew Kippes, son Ben, Vince Kippes, Chance Ogawa, daughter Arie, and Nathan Buffi (Tonya), children Kyli, Trevor and Nick
Nieces: Stephanie Ogawa Summers, children Jesse and Austyn, Kim Kippes Townsend (Wayne), Liz Kippes (Pat Vaughn), Renee Kippes Turner (Trae) children Mara and Jesse
Tom was a gentle soul. Not a big talker, always observing the views and people. Be at peace.
