SCOTT SMITH

OAKLEY -Scott Smith (Michael Scott Smith) passed away Sunday November 3, 2024 after a battle with Auto Immune Cirrhosis and Liver Cancer.
He was born in Rupert, Idaho on August 15, 1972 to Billie and Michael Smith. At five years old he, his parents and his three sisters moved to Burley, Idaho and he became a part of the Fairmont Crew where countless hours were spent playing baseball, riding bikes and growing up together.

In his youth, and as an adult, he enjoyed participating in all sports especially Baseball and Basketball. He loved all things outdoors, hunting, camping and anything with his Dad especially. He graduated from Burley High School in 1990 after which he attended ISU where he studied computer programming. Scott shared his many talents at various jobs throughout his life. Including working with his Dad at Mike's Pump Service, managing Robertson Supply in Pocatello and Twin Falls before joining the Pump Service team where he was able to use his perfectionist skills and vast knowledge to problem solve. He loved the people he worked with and served.
Shortly after graduating High School he married his High School sweetheart Heidi Jamison. Together they welcomed six children and eight almost ten grandchildren. Scott's greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours cheering them on at all their activities be it academic, sports, dance or cheerleading. They will never have to question if they were loved by their Dad and Bop Bop.

Second only to his family was his love of his kids he coached and the coaches he coached with. Too numerous to name, if you shared a field, court, dugout or sideline with him you are his family.

Scott was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities. Scott and Heidi had their best date nights at the temple.
Scott is survived by his Wife Heidi, their children Britanni (Josh) Higley, Madison (Jason) Rebollozo, Taylor (Kaden) Poulsen, Hannah (Mason) Crystal, Zachary Smith and Ryan Smith. His grandchildren Quinton, Elsie, Addy, Mackston, Karter, Henry, Marlee, Theodore and two additions coming 2025. His Father Mike Smith, sisters Julie Smith, Traci (Eddie) Lange, Tami Cole (John) and Alan Cole and so many loved nieces and nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Billie Smith, Mother in Law Betty Jamison and his Grandparents Tony & Marcella Sabala and Peter and Queenie Smith (Fouts) along with his nephew Connor Cole.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Scott Smith Memorial account at First Federal Savings Bank.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Oakley Stake Center, 355 North Center in Oakley. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening, November 7, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 at the Oakley Stake Center 355 North Center Street in Oakley and from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert.

The family would like to thank Hospice Visions and the many friends and community members for the kind and loving care of Scott and his family.
