It is with heavy hearts that we announce Robert (Bob) Eugene Klar of Hinckley, MN., passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Rupert, Idaho, where he was receiving compassionate in-home hospice care from Hospice Visions LLC of Twin Falls, ID.
Bob’s journey in life was marked by hard work and dedication. He began his career in farming and later worked at Whirlpool, AH Bennet Company, and Fruehauf Trucking. Known for his strong work ethic, Bob often juggled second jobs, including night-shift janitorial work. His 35-year tenure at Arrow Tank and Engineering in Cambridge, MN, from which he retired in 2010, was a testament to his unwavering commitment and work ethic.
In his younger years, Bob found joy in horseback riding, camping, and dancing. He was not only a hard worker but also a man of many skills, indulging in hobbies such as odd-job welding, trailer and pole-shed construction, and tree cutting. Bob’s friendly nature made him a beloved figure in his community, and he was always ready for a chat with anyone he met. He and his partner, Dora Stamm, were familiar faces at the Whistle Stop Café, where they enjoyed their daily visits.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, John and Hattie Klar, his sister, Gladys (Gilbert) Maslonkowski, and his brother, Marvin (Deloris) Klar.
He is survived by his brothers Jack (Laura) Klar, Harvey (Nancy) Klar, Thomas (Dorothy) Klar, and Lester (Ramona) Klar, his sister Beverly (Patrick) Seitz, his children Karen Klar, Nancy Shurtz, Linda (Daniel) Irving, Robert (Lilie) Klar, and Scott (Kristi) Klar, as well as 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who will all carry forward his memory and legacy.
A memorial service in Bob's honor will be held at 1:00 PM on June 7, 2025, at the Hinckley Community Center. His family invites all who knew and loved Bob to join in celebrating his remarkable life.
Condolences:
Every year when the seitzs would head to MN. At arrival my uncle Bob would be waiting for me and my brother! He would put us in the truck and take us to dairy queen! He would buy us all an Iced cream and we would chat! Just us! It was a tradition for many years! He would always tell the story of me taking him deep in the city of Denver at a young age knowing all turns and not getting us lost! He was very impressed and made me proud every time he told it! I will miss my uncle Bob. Patrick Thomas Seitz
All the chats we had at the Bank. He would always come over to my little office to say HI and share some words of wisdom! I will truly miss him. He was a kind and gentle Uncle. I know he would have done anything for me. Diane Scullard
