BURLEY - Judith A Nielson Osterhout passed away the morning of January 7, 2025, with her devoted husband at her side.  Judy was born February 18th, 1941 to Rex & Agnes (Roberts) Nielson in Cardston, Alberta, Canada.  She was the oldest of her siblings and was joined by LaMont Nielson, Roberta Gurney, Carol Schwarz, Karma Pederson, Tom Nielson and Colleen Kastendiek.  She spent most of her childhood in southern Alberta, with a 2 year stay in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.  Judy graduated from Raymond High School.  She attended and graduated from Ricks College.  She then attended Utah State University, majoring in Home Economics.   While she was there, she met her eternal companion, Ronald Dee Osterhout.  They were married in June of 1963 in the Cardston Alberta Temple.

Judy is a loving mother, a devoted wife, an amazing grandma and great-grandma.  She is a disciple of Jesus Christ and tried to be like Him.  She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.  She had a way of making everyone feel loved and important, and like they were her favorite.  Although we have been saying goodbye to her for many years, her passing leaves a hole in our hearts.  We will miss her amazing smile and sparkling blue eyes.  We know she is having a joyous reunion with her parents, and that she now has a clear mind.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Rex & Agnes Nielson, her in-laws, Seymour & Leora Osterhout, a brother-in-law Bryant Gurney, a sister-in-law Karen Wolf, and a great-granddaughter Grace Geary.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ronald Dee Osterhout, her children: Treena (Jed) Geary, Mitzi Osterhout (Kyle Snyder), Heather (Stacey) Dayley, Jeff (Melissa) Osterhout, Devin (Melinda) Osterhout, Ronae (Angel) Martinez, Kelton (Shelley) Osterhout, 18 grandchildren, and 9 ½ great-grandchildren, all of her siblings and many nieces & nephews.

We would like to thank the people who cared for her.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Alzheimer’s research.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2025 at the Burley Stake Center of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2050 Normal Ave in Burley.  Burial will follow in the Declo Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday evening, January 12, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Monday at the Church prior to the funeral.
