Albert Arnold Rodriguez of Burley, Idaho passed away from health complications on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. He was born on September 7, 1958 in Burley, Idaho to Robert and Sharon Blauer Rodriguez.

Albert was raised in Burley and attended Burley schools. He worked various jobs throughout his life including the Forest Service, Del Monte Foods and Magic Valley Foods. Albert was married to Joan Pearson. They later divorced. He enjoyed spending time with family. His three children, James, Joseph and Natasha meant the world to him. He also had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. Albert was blessed with many aunts, uncles and cousins. His cousins loved him unconditionally and brought great joy into his life. He never missed an Oakley Pioneer Days reunion with his Oakley cousins. We can never repay the many acts of kindness from family and friends shown to our brother who had special needs.

Albert is known by his family for his kind, loving nature and for his unusual sense of humor. Some of his many joys in life included Star Trek, Star Wars, Elvis, professional wrestling, and sci-fi movies. He was an original "Trekkie" and enjoyed collecting memorabilia. He was also an avid collector of key chains, baseball cards, miniature cars, and coins. He also had a small collection of various cats and dogs throughout his life that he loved and cared for.

In his younger years Albert was a participant in Special Olympics in track and field and enjoyed the many friendships he gained from that experience. Like many people that have special needs, Albert struggled throughout his life with those who did not understand his disability. However, he never held a grudge and never sought to retaliate. Instead he showed total love, acceptance and forgiveness to everyone. Money and material things meant very little to Albert. He was extremely generous and kind. He was happier with the simple things in life than most people could ever understand. Albert was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Rodriguez. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Sharon Rodriguez; children, James Rodriguez, Joseph (Erin) Rodriguez, and Natasha Rodriguez; siblings, Larry (Sylvia) Rodriguez, Becky (Kerwin) Pierce, Robert Rodriguez Jr., and Ronald (Alex) Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews.

Toward the end of his life, Albert's failing health and his ongoing struggles were becoming insurmountable. This Christmas we know that he is so happy to receive the ultimate gift; the gift of eternal life and freedom from the physical and mental limitations that he has endured on the earth. Albert you have reached the final frontier and are now ready to enter a new galaxy.
