Harry Charles Maselter passed away peacefully on Monday February 8, 2016 surrounded by the love of his family.  It was a celebration of his 96th birthday.

Harry C. Maselter was born February 8, 1920 in Chicago, IL to John A. Maselter and Mary Mayer Maselter.  He was the 5th child born to this union. His siblings were John, Edward, Marie and Dorothy. Harry graduated from Amundson High School and Wright Jr. College. With the war looming, he went to work in the defense plants and in July 1943 he enlisted in the Army Air Corp. He served his country honorably until discharged in 1946. Harry returned to school and graduated from Loyola University with a degree in business and accounting.

In 1949 Harry met the love of his life, Betty Jane Baker. On June 10, 1950 they were married at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Chicago. With this union they had 3 daughters, Susan Mary, Denise Ann, and Michelle Leigh. The family moved to Burley, ID in 1961 when Harry was transferred by the A&P Tea Co. to be the Office Manager at their Burley potato plant. The family has resided in Burley since then.

Harry was a faithful and loving family man and his family was the focus of his life.  They spent many vacations traveling back to Chicago and many other destinations.  Harry and Betty traveled extensively and had many wonderful experiences over the 63 years they were together.

Harry was active in the Catholic Church his entire life. He enjoyed all sports but tennis was the game of his life. He played the game for 60 years. Health and fitness were always a priority to him and he belonged to the local health club for 30 years.

Harry and his beloved wife Betty spent 63 years together for which he is eternally grateful.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his daughter Susan, his parents and siblings. He is survived by his daughters Denise Rollins and Michelle Maselter of Burley; grandchildren Lance Quas of Kansas City, MO, Alyce (Trever) Tolman of Boise and Brett Maselter of Burley; great-grandchildren Aliza and Luke Tolman of Boise and Bryce Maselter of Burley.
