ARTHUR "FLOYD" HAYNES

Arthur "Floyd" Haynes of Paul, Idaho passed away on August 26, 2016 at Countryside Care Center in Rupert, ID at the age of 94. Floyd was born on December 18, 1921 in Hooper, UT to Earl and Edith Iola Haynes. He graduated from Paul High School. After graduation, he attended the University of Idaho until he enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1944. During his tour of duty, he proudly served aboard the USS Boxer. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He married Eldina Heinze on September 26, 1948. In 1958 they drew a farm and moved to the Kasota area where they farmed for 12 years. In 1970, they relocated to the city of Paul. Until his retirement, Floyd continued to work as a welder and golf course grounds keeper. He was a witty individual who loved telling jokes and stories as well playing pranks on everyone he knew. He was an active member of the Paul Congregational Church and a member of the Paul American Legion. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and especially, golfing. He is survived by his wife, Eldina; his children, Kathy Uhrig, Colleen Leighton, Susan (Dave) Shockey; his grandchildren, Cacee (Art) Valencia, Zach Uhrig, Hollee Leighton, Jerica Denniston and his great grandchildren, Marissa, Isabella and Diego Valencia, Ethan and Elijah Uhrig. He is also survived by his brothers, Lynn and Wayne Haynes and sister Ardell Clark. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Wilford Haynes, Verral Haynes, Norma Somervell, Gene Haynes, Dale Haynes, Dick Haynes, and Letha Hansen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Ebenezer Congregational Church 129 North 2nd West in Paul with Pastor John Downs, officiating. Burial will follow in the Paul Cemetery with military rites provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Floyd's life. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Countryside Care Center and Dr. Brad Wynn in Rupert, Idaho for their care and compassion. Services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home in Rupert.
