Sherman O. Lewis, 59 year old Rupert resident, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his home in Rupert. He was born on February 6, 1957 in Hugoton, Kansas, the son of Elvin Lowell and Avilla Ruth Dunn Lewis. Sherman graduated from Minico High School class of 1975. Sherman served our country with the United States Army. On July 17, 1981 he married the love of his life, Carol Bean in Seattle, Washington. Sherman worked hard for the Amalgamated Sugar Factory for 38 years and also loved driving truck during the harvest season. Survivors include his wife Carol of Rupert; his children, Robert (Yolanda) Dennis of Burley; Jeremy (April) Fisher of Rupert, his grandchildren, Tobra Allshouse Dennis, Kennedy Lutz Fisher, Aubri "Bree Bree" Fisher, and Audri Fisher; His Mother in-law, Marian Bean of Rupert; His sisters, Shirley (Cory) Gee of Rupert, Ruth (Tim) Timmons of Heyburn, Nina (Bill) Scott of Heyburn, Linda (Joe) Taylor of Rupert and Ellen (Dan) Ledbetter of Indiana; His sister in-law Peggy (Bob) Massio of Heyburn and his brother in-law Richard (Gayle) Bean of Twin Falls; his special nieces Leslie Fowler and Kourtney, Alex, Abby Hutchison of Burley. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father in-law, Robert "Bob" Bean and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 with Military Rites at 7:00 p.m. provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans. In keeping with Sherman’s wishes no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to the Mini-Cassia Veterans Auxiliaries. Services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
