Mary Jean Hoskins Davis, age 82, of Malta Idaho passed away at her home with her daughter, Susan, at her side on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. Mary Jean was born to Larry and Lydia Hoskins at St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno, California on April 4, 1935.

Mary Jean was baptized in the Lutheran Cross Church in Fresno, California and attended Fresno High School. Her favorite places as a child were her grandparents ranch in Easton and summer trips to Pismo Beach.

She lived in Gardnerville, Nevada with her husband, Roland Kincade, for many years to raise their children. She loved the desert and took to gardening, watercolor painting, playing the piano, and being a fantastic mother.

She returned to Fresno after the passing of her husband and lived there for the next 25 years to be close to her parents until they passed. She made many friends and worked at the Fresno Farm Credit Bureau and then Fresno City College until retirement.

Mary Jean then moved to Malta, Idaho to be close to her three great grandchildren. Again, she made many friends. She loved gardening and would spend hours on the Internet researching flowers and plantings for her yard.  She became a Master Gardner and joined the Master Gardeners in Burley where she was an active member for several years.

Mary Jean loved to travel and was always up for the next adventure. Her bright blue eyes would shine and she would get excited to go on a trip. She traveled in Europe with her daughters and was able to fulfill her life-long dream and see the flowers in Hawaii with her daughters in October of 2016.

Mary Jean had faith in the world, faith in her family, and faith in God. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to sing in the mornings and while she cooked in the kitchen. She always kept a song in her heart.  She was incredibly shy and her request for no service or memorial is being honored; the family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date.

Mary Jean is survived by her son Larry (Darlene) Kincade, her daughters Susan Kincade and Robin Kincade, stepson Terry Kincade, grandchildren Brandy (Ryan) Taylor, Brian Kincade, Aarin (Phil) Pulido and Hannah Vasquez, four great grandchildren, Makayla, Laton, and Talon Taylor and four-month-old Espie Pulido, brother Leonard (Ruth) Hoskins, Cousin Bob (Verna) Steinhauer, nephews Max (Anna) Hoskins, Dan (Lynn Thomas) Hoskins, niece Meredith (Christopher Lubeck) Hoskins, and great niece and nephew Joel and Phoebe Diaz.

Mary Jean had courage and convictions, a firm moral ground and she knew who she was. Her family was fortunate to have such a wonderful soul be a mentor and a huge part of their lives for 82 years.  We will miss you so very much.
