Amanda K. Johnson was born on July 3, 1919 and passed into Heaven on March 27, 2015.  Amanda grew up in Burley, Idaho and attended school in Burley. She met and married Orvil Zenith Johnson, during World War II Amanda and Orvil moved to San Diego, Calif. After the war they moved back to Burley to raise their children. Two children were born to this union. A son, Larry Dean and a daughter, Linda Sharlene.  Amanda worked at Price’s Café in Burley for 8 yrs. She then worked as the owner of Tops Motel in Heyburn. Amanda then taught as a teacher at Burley Christian Academy for 8 yrs. Later she became the founder of Mother(s) of Israel home ministries for 8 yrs. Amanda then retired.  Amanda loved her family and anything that had to do with family. She loved cooking and entertaining, there was never a hungry person turned away from her door. Not for food or the word of God.  Amanda was preceded in death by her beloved Orvil Johnson. Her parents Ella Mae and Seam Legrand . She is survived by her children. Larry (Celia) Johnson, (Rupert), Linda Johnson, (Burley), and her grandchildren: Suzy Young, (Coeur d’ Alene), Annie Brown, (Burley), Kevin Young, (Stanford, Virginia), Joshua Jones, (Boise), Leland Johnson, (AZ), Gayle Gallegos, (Burley) and 10 great grand kids.  Amanda was loved by many. She will be greatly missed by many. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Mountain View Christian Center with Pastor Jim Powell, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gem Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations to help with funeral expenses be made at Wells Fargo Bank for Amanda K. Johnson memorial donation. The family also wishes that a love offering be made to Mtn. View Christian Center at the time of the service.
