Thomas Farrell Jenkins age 84 passed away in Burley, Idaho, April 5, 2023.  Farrell was born on January 12, 1939, to Lewis and Eva Hughes Jenkins in Malad City, Idaho.  Farrell was proudly raised in Malad and educated at Malad High School.

Farrell married Bonnie Treasure on May 29, 1959 in Malad City, Idaho.  Their marriage of 63 years was  later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple, on October 22, 1962.  To this union were born three children, Caralee Jayne, Thomas Farrell Jr. and David Lewis Jenkins.

Farrell worked at Thiokol later ATK for 35 years.

Dad was blessed with the gift of gab, he had never met a stranger, if he did, he wasn’t a stranger long.

Dad had many talents; he could do just about anything he set his mind to.  He has braided many sets of reins for granddad’s horses, as well as many others.  Dad was very gifted at carving wood and has created many beautiful carvings of wildlife that will be cherished by his family.  But Dad’s greatest joy was his children, grand and great grandchildren.

Dad said in his last days many times “We have lived a good life.  We have done a lot of things.”  Farrell and Bonnie were Snowbirds and loved wintering in Yuma, Arizona for 34 years, prior to his failing health. Their summer months were spent in Island Park, Idaho.  Dad loved to fish and hunt but, with great joy he shot his large moose in the velvet.  He looked around and said, the best part is I have my whole family, wife, children, grandchildren and nephew right here with me.

Farrell is survived by his devoted wife Bonnie, children Caralee (Leonard) Schenk, Tom (Christine) Jenkins, and David Jenkins. Eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his loved sister Thelda Laws.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Eva Jenkins, brothers Lloyd Jenkins, Lynn Jenkins and sister Ilene Larsen.

Services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023.  A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00, with the funeral following at 11:15.  The service will be held at the Second ward building at 20 South 100 West, Malad City, Idaho.

Services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert
