Betty Belle Loveland (McBeth) passed away on April 20, 2024, in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born in Pocatello in 1937 to Henry and Clorah Kimbell. Growing up during the Great Depression and World War II, she instilled in her family a sense of sacrifice and the importance of hard work. Her baby sister, Ginger, joined the family in 1954. Betty grew up in Pocatello, graduated from Pocatello High School, and, after meeting and marrying Idaho State College pharmacy student Kenneth McBeth, moved to Rupert, Idaho, in 1957, where Ken had taken a job as a pharmacist. She resided in Rupert until the final weeks of her life. Ken and Betty raised two children, Sandy and Mark, in the community she loved and was proud of. She frequently bragged about her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids until the very end of her life. The central focus of her life was her family, her cats and dogs, her home, her neighbors, and her community. She adored houseplants, meticulously tended flower gardens, trees, and her yard, but it was her family that meant everything to her. Her grandkids and great-grandkids affectionately called her Nanny Goat. Ken passed away in 1986, and she remarried Dale Loveland in 1988. Through Ken's illness and death, she was the one who kept the family together, maintaining normalcy and guiding everyone forward, for which her entire family is tremendously grateful. Both Sandy and Mark attended college because of their mother's insistence on furthering their education. Mark, in particular, acknowledges her unwavering insistence and determination to ensure that he attended college. She worked as a teacher's aide at Heyburn Elementary School from 1976 until her retirement in 2001. Over the years, her former students reached out to her and her family, expressing gratitude for her dedication to their education and the positive influence she had on their lives. The loss of her beloved daughter and best friend, Sandy, in 2013 was devastating, but Betty persevered for the sake of her remaining family, as she had always done. In her final years, she cherished weekly visits from her sister Ginger, her son Mark, and daughter-in-law Lisa. To her last days, she remained devoted to returning to the home and community that she so loved. She is survived by her son, Mark (Lisa) McBeth of Pocatello; her sister, Ginger Summers of Pocatello; her three grandsons based in the Boise Valley: Sean (Jordyn) Tominaga, Jason Tominaga, and Layne (Jason McBride) Tominaga; and five great-grandchildren: Ryder, Huddy, Mya, Maci, and Jase. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandy Tominaga, her first husband, Kenneth McBeth, and her second husband, Dale Loveland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Minidoka Senior Center, 702 11th Street, Rupert, Idaho 83350. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 3 at 11:00 am at the Paul Cemetery.

It was an honor to have Betty work along side me for the years I taught at Heyburn. She truly was a ray of sunshine each and every time she walked into my classroom.
