Jerry was born February 2, 1932 in Burley, Idaho to William Ellsworth Gochnour and Fern Mae Austin Gochnour. He was the second born to them. He graduated from Burley High School in 1950. He worked on the family dairy and farm with his dad and brother John. He joined the Army and served in the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. When he got home from of the service he went to help his dad on the family farm. In 1955, he met his best friend for life, Theodora (Jacky) Jaqueline Helms and the couple was married on December 18, 1956. He worked construction, the stock sales, and farming. Jerry and Jacky helping his parents with their farm and dairy. Then they later moved west of Kasota and built a new farm and dairy herd and spent their remaining years there together.  Between the years of 1957 and 1975 Jerry & Jacky had 6 children (Bill, Tom, Sam, Jerry, Craig & Anne.) These where Jerry & Jacky's whole world from then on.  Jerry loved to hunt with his friends, his dad and then with his boys, nephews and the dogs. They spent many late fall days and nights hunting in the South Hills.  Also fishing from Birch Creek to Fish Creek and everywhere in between. Going for long drives just to see what he could see was another past time he truly enjoyed. He had great family and friends. He also liked to go to the show and play pinochle with friends. In later years after retiring he went back to work at Horizon Dairy, working alongside two of his sons. When he finally really retired he enjoyed traveling with family, meeting new people and seeing new things. He was a self-professed "Coffee Shop Bum" and truly loved to sit and visit with every one of their coffee shop haunts and talking about everything from the weather to politics and everything in between. He loved his daughter-in-laws and son-in law. He absolutely adored his many grandchildren. Always on his mind till the very end were Kacie, Wayne, Eric, Kristal, Brian, Zandra, Annie, Taharie, Kellie Jo, Kyle, Brandon, Chris, Josh, Kayla, Trevor, Katie, Stacey, Emily, Joshua & Jamie. Although they have grown and are raising their own family they were always in his heart.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Ellsworth Gochnour and two sons, Sam Gochnour and Craig Gochnour.  He is survived by his wife Jacky Gochnour, his sister Elaine Perry, his sons Bill (Cindy) Gochnour, Tom (Leslie) Gochnour, Jerry (Bonnie) Gochnour and daughter Anne Gochnour (Merl Day).  He was a son, a husband, a friend, a father but mostly he was a good man who loved with all of his heart. He touched everyone that met him and will leave a lasting place in everyone's hearts and minds.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Pleasant View Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organizations.  Friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the  Morrison Funeral Home 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert.
