BURLEY - R. Trent Anderson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, entrepreneur, farmer, and lifelong Oakley/Burley resident, passed away peacefully at his home 9/10/26 in Burley, Idaho, surrounded by his family.

Trent was born in December 1950 in Burley, Idaho, to Ray and Margene Anderson. He was raised in Oakley alongside his four sisters and developed a lifelong love for the community, the land, and the people of Cassia County.

Trent was a hardworking and creative entrepreneur who was never afraid to take a chance or build something of his own. Over the years, he farmed potatoes and grain, raised cattle, and eventually built a successful trucking business. Through Anderson Farms and Anderson Trucking, he worked alongside and employed many people throughout the years, including many friends and family members. He loved to work, sun-up to sun-down, and most of all, the people he worked with.

His faith and service were an important part of Trent’s life. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ontario, Canada, and continued to serve throughout his life in numerous church callings, including a ward mission leader, a member of the Bishopric, a service mission in Grouse Creek, UT and Boy Scout leader. In the community, the Oakley Vigilantes, OHS Booster Club, and youth baseball and basketball coach. Trent gave generously of his time and talents and found joy in serving others.

One of Trent’s greatest joys was his family. He was the proud father of six children with his beautiful and supportive wife, Dee. Trent met Dee while attending Ricks College, and they were married in 1972. Their life together was filled with family, hard work, laughter, faith, and countless memories.

Trent loved horses and created many special memories through Pony Express races with his children and friends, often riding thoroughbreds that had come off the racetrack. He loved being outdoors, working with his animals, and sharing those experiences with the people he loved.

He was also an avid Oakley Hornet fan Trent enthusiastically supported his own children and grandchildren, but his cheering didn't stop there. He loved watching the young people of Oakley compete and was a fan of all the kids in the community. He also enjoyed coaching, including Little League baseball and basketball, where he could encourage young people and share his love of the game. Trent loved BYU and followed all their sports teams all through the years.

And then there were the little things that made Trent uniquely Trent. He loved his snacks and soda—especially his Diet Coke. He had a particular fondness for fried bologna, plain hamburgers, dry (no dressing) salads, PB + honey sandwiches, slim jims, and DQ Peanut Buster Parfaits. These simple quirks are now the memories his family will treasure and smile about for years to come.

Trent had a gift for people. He was a friend to all and rarely met a stranger. He sought people out, included them, and had a way of making those around him feel seen, valued, and important. His positivity, kindness, humor, and genuine interest in others left an impression on countless people throughout his life.

Above all, Trent was a family man. His greatest legacy will not be the businesses he built, the farms he worked, the cattle he raised, or the trucks and people he employed, but the people he loved and the lives he touched. He leaves behind a family who will carry his stories, his example, his faith, his humor, and his love with them.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Dee; his six children {AnnaLee, Tasha (Matt), Jeremy (Jennifer), Jade, Laisa (Jonah), Chase (Yamammy)}; his grandchildren; sisters {the late Saragene, Tamara, Jessie and Sheila}; 12 Grandchildren {Trey, Rhendi, Talia, Blakely, Skyler, Hope, Livia, Kendyll, Preslee, Tyce, Peter, Radley} and the many friends, employees, neighbors, young people, and members of the community who were fortunate enough to know him.

Trent's family takes comfort in knowing that his final moments were spent peacefully, at home, surrounded by the people he loved most.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Burley 5th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2420 Parke Ave in Burley. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Marion Cemetery in Oakley. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2026 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home in Rupert.
