Freddie (Fred) Lee Boyd, 78, passed away Sunday, July 19th, 2026. Fred was a beloved father, brother, uncle and dear friend to many.

Fred was born April 16th, 1948 in Modesto California to Helen Spivey. In 1949, Helen married Lester Lee Boyd who raised Fred and his 5 siblings. In 1960, the family moved to Declo Idaho where Fred’s parents ran the Pioneer Revival Center for many years. Fred graduated from Minico High School and joined the Army National reserve. Fred worked at Magic Valley Foods (later Idahoan Foods), retiring in 2010 after a career as a packaging technician spanning decades.

The true highlight of Fred’s life was his kids. His “boys”, Phil, Fred, and Justin and his daughter Michelle who he reconnected with later in life. Fred was so proud of his kid’s accomplishments and bragged to anyone that would listen.

Fred maintained a very calm demeanor and became a trusted friend to many. His home was a landing place for friends and family members over the years when they needed a place to stay through life’s transitions. Over the last year he has found companionship and friendship in Evelyn Mabey, enjoying nightly movies and sweet treats together.

Fred is survived by his children; Justin (Sarah) Boyd, Phillip (Monica) McDonald, Fred (Kristine) McDonald all of Jerome Idaho, and Michelle Dawn (Chad Yocum) of Prescott, AZ. Brother Tom (Becky) Boyd of Ceres, CA. 8 grandchildren; Allyson, Lillian, Brenna, Kaydince, Ryan, Cody, Jake, Kyla.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Helen Boyd, and his siblings, Jimmie, Danny, Vera, and Brenda.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert. Burial will follow at the Declo Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
