With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeanne Merrill Johnson - a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on May 23, 1947 to parents Ruth and Loyd Merrill, Jeanne passed peacefully on July 31, 2026 surrounded by family. Jeanne is joining her husband Terry Win Johnson, who passed away in November 2024.
In life, Jeanne was an adventurous spirit who approached challenges with a great sense of humor and optimism. Whether she was driving up Overland Avenue with the windows down to get ice cream with her daughters, or sliding around on the icy streets to make it on time to a hair appointment, Jeanne was ready to laugh and made a point to have a bit of fun every day. She loved music, growing roses in her garden, and watching football games with her late husband.
Jeanne loved Christmas and she practiced the role of Santa year-round with a genuinely sincere love of giving and lending a helping hand to anyone she found in need.
Jeanne is survived by her siblings: Jack (Janet), Pam (Kurt), and Gary, daughters: Tera (Don), Kristi (Kevin), and Lori (Kyle) grandchildren: Emily, Degen, Berrett, Madison, Sidney, Charlie, and Ellie, & Jack her great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Emerald 2nd Ward building, 300 South 500 West in Heyburn, Idaho. Burial will follow in the Paul Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the funeral services.
